While little can ever be certain of the Unformed, it is thought that the Lord of Obsidian has been banished back to The Wyld after a [[Liberation of Kessel|mighty battle]] at the mines of [[Kessel]], where his Queen fell to a [[Master Sui|heretical Monk]], but not before his army of [[Hobgoblins]], Bugbears, and worse, had brought chaos and misery to the miners, and the Realm troops stationed there.
