Once the regional strongman, the empire has lost territories on both the east (Soba) and its more northerly holdings above The Serpent river and the northshore of Lake Agate (Azure Horde). With the only professional army in the region and rich lands still in it western heartlands it remains a force to reckon with.
The Empire is a functional Theocracy comprising several major Gods, 2 of which are incarnate and directly involved in administration.
As such it is considered an affront to the Immaculate Order. The Pure Path remain ambivalent.
The empires current capitol is Jiril where the Agate Lake empties into The Serpent river. The site of the capitol may be in flux however as the empire has recently lost the north shore of the Serpent to the Azure Horde. The Steppe nomads have shown little interest in boats so far but it is believed that Imperial counsel is worried about the city's defence if this does happen.
The Empire is bisected by The White Thunderer, which has resisted efforts at bridging it. The major city in the east of the empire is Taral at which the trade route crosses The Serpent. It also leads to the only road on the northshore which connects the eastern and western empire together. This has been where the Empires Jannisary Corps has concentracted its effort while leaving the northern estaes to burn. The road is heavily defended. whether it is enough to stop one of the Anathema remains to be seen.
