There are three main Markets in Soba:
The Great Moon Bazaar:
Situated within the outer walls of the Plum Citadel this market is reserved for the use of foreign merchants who have travelled down the Road of the Prophet. Merchant venturers should note that under they are obliged to set up stall for at least one day during their stay within the city. This is under the decree of the prophet and those who disobey will face the wrath of the citadels Gates. By Imperial decree foreigners must set up within the Great Moon Bazaar, so as to allow for assessment of tax. It must be noted that the Great moon is policed by the Citadel Guard rather than the City Watch and punishments for breaking the peace or impeding the flow of trade will be swift, harsh and public. The Great Moon is noted as being one of the noted locations of the city, indeed foreign nations who know nothing else of Soba take heed of the decisions taken here. The Factors for at least a dozen major merchant cartels are usually present at any one time and this swells to 3 times that number during the Dragon Boat Races.
The Little Moon Bazaar.
Located on the northern edge of the city at the Champoor Gate between the Artisan district and the Dragons Quarter. This smaller market is used by the tradesmen and artisans of the city. It is also the place to hire mercenary companies for venturers heading out of the city. The City Watch has its headquarters next to the Champoor Gate so the area is relatively well patrolled, though visitors should be aware that Soba currently has no civil code and thus the watch have no authority over thieves unless they also break the peace. Stalls at the Little moon are usually hereditary and rarely available for new comers.
Plaza Market.
Located in the vicinity of the Kif Gate at the far south of the city, the Plaza is the ancient market of the city. Today it is relegated as the market for victuals to supply the caravans and as a place those who are neither rich nor connected to sell their wares and their services. The Rules for this market are Buyer Beware. There is a negligible Watch presence and all manner of charlatans have set up shop in the Plaza. It should also be noted that the Plaza is within the Kif Quarter. The Visitor should obtain native guides so as not to tread on tribal toes. Alternatively lots of armed guards also works.
