We all met up at The Crashing Fountain dojo. Lao Pei attended in his White Tiger form. We chatted about "oooh, we're all Exalted" and "What to do now?" Then a commotion outside interrupted: A whirlwind/sandstorm was causing havoc in the Kif quarter, just outside the dojo. We ran to investigate. Sui reached the whirlwind first, and dived at it, seeking the doll he had seen in its centre. the rest made their way to the scene. Sui quickly despatched the doll, but unbeknown to him, the Spirit that animated it had fled. It had left corpses bleached by years of desert sun, and footprints very similar to those found with the Chess-Player's corpse. In the aftermath, Ben was approached by a burly chap, insisting to be told what was going on. The White Rose deftly took over the conversation, and this gentleman turns out to be Dolman, the Dragon-Blooded leader of a local Mercenary company. --- Mercenary Company: The Broken Chains. Recruit from ex-slaves. Doll: Porcelain and cloth. Very high quality materials, low quality crafting. Funeral barge of local Kif Sheik was untouched by the devastation.
