Session 8
We rush off towards the Tower, hoping to stop the Satrap from completing his Evil Schemes! Fox and Stoat want to burn the Library to deny The Satrap his Power, but we persuade them that we can succeed without doing this.
Bill The Air Elemental lifts us all to the Top of the Tower, where the Satrap is busy summoning Anwe, Prince of The Djinn! Nearly a dozen djinn are inhabiting porcelain statues. We leap onto the tower and attempt to thwart his Plans! Ben and Fox challenge his sorcerous powers with their own, while the rest of us keep the djinn away from them. It is a difficult fight, and before long, ribbons of golden essence are streaming across the top of the Tower. Several of the statues have been shattered (revealing the djinn's true forms, some kind of warped human souls), but more advance. Our sorcerers are struggling with the pressure of holding back the Satrap's majicks, but they continue ...
With a triumphant cry, Fox finally strips the last vestiges of the Satraps majick, ending his spells and banishing the djinn back into the Portal. Anwe reaches through and grabs the Satrap, to wreak his vengeance! The Satrap has dropped his book, which shatters in the portal - Sui and Kensha gather what the can.
Seeing the forces he has been fighting alongside, Fox decides that he needs to check with his superiors, and runs off. Stoat stays around to fulfil his Oath.
Now we just need to placate Anwe, and get him to keep fighting the Fey. We know there is a Hostage, that gives us Leverage over him, but know very little details. Ben and Stoat rush down the the library to see what they can find. There is little time, and not much to go on, but they do find some references to Anwe. Handing this information to Lady Khensa, she Attunes herself to the majikcs of the Tower, and calls forth Anwe.
Much negotiation later, we are not sure what is going on ... We will meet Anwe in a Year, and he wants to see progress that we have found clues to the Brass key, where his Hostage is held. We are hoping he is still holding off the Fey.
OK, the description is a bit stilted, but it was an Epic session! A huge fight, that we were never sure of winning, with Anwe always just a round or two away ... And then the Negotiation. The struggle to find what he wanted, and what we could do. Eventually we walk away with a complicated success: the satrap has been stopped. We have Stoat as an "Ally". And we are a step closer to becoming Major Powers in the City!
