Dongola

Capitol of Makuria, Dongola lies on The Shadow river, South of Alodia.

The city is split by the River, with the Foreign Quarter lying to one side, and the Old City to the other. Travel across the River is restricted, and subject to Augury readings.

The Old City is a mighty fortress, with walls 100 feet thick, and many defences, both mundane and mystical.

It is ruled by the Touran, an exigent exalted who's power flows from the artifacts he weilds. The Touran possesses only the life span of a mortal man, but shares some of the memories of those who came before him.
