Talmorra's Background

The seventh child out of nine children, Tully was born in the Jacqs Warrens near the Docks to one of the matriarchs of the Clan. The Jacqs were already accounted as one of the nine families and it is said there was a Jacqs running a crooked dice game the day the prophet arrived in Soba.

His first years are spent as most childrens' first years are spent. An idyll of hunting scorpions amongst the old palms of the district and carrying messages for cousins and uncles. On his Fifth birthday he was fostered as is proper to the a good family amongst the nine, the Silver Creeds ( Not the more illustrious Golden Creeds).

Uncle Balthazar was tough taskmaster for the young tully and the River he learnt was a dangerous place for a city youth. But it was here that he met his future wife Taluna as they plyed the hidden trade up and down between Soba and Kessel.

At age 12 Tully was apprenticed to the Edge Runners Brotherhood under his future Patron, Elgar. For 9 years he ran with and learnt to direct a number of Edgerunner operations from the Pimps to the cardsharks, the burglers to the bent clerks for the merchant houses.

At the Age of 21 he completed his tradescraft and with the backing of his families established his own company, the Immortals. Running a combination of under the counter fraud, burglery and smuggling he quickly established himself as a serious thorn in the satraps backside receiving the ultimate accolade of an assasination attempt at the tender age of 25.

But a step change was about to strike the young Tully. The Tel Ammora hit was the biggest the immortals had ever attempted and was almost a complete disaster for them. A Satraps ransom of precious Spice from a fortified warehouse in broad day light during the dragonboat festival. A Guardian infiltrator almost blew the whole operation and left several key gangsters out of position or out of commission. With the reputation of his company in the balance, Tully was left with the the only recourse of attempting a solo infiltration into the warehouse and carrying out the strike himself. In truth he had never expected to make it, but better to die in the attempt than face the wroth of his mother. To his undying suprise he made it in and back out with a sackful of stinking spice without any guards, clerks or watchdogs being any the wiser.

It was an explosive few months after that with Tully making hit after hit deep into the financial underbelly of the realm. It was not long after that the Sabine themselves noticed him as he crossed the bridge. An unwelcome complication to a fairly easy heist that marked Tully as a Named Man. A play on words from a repected uncle marked him as the Tall Man, a name with resonance in the city. The last Tall Man stood amonst the gang of four during the ill fated Repulic of the Autumn Leaves rebellion.

A tragedy completed his rise to prominence. The Scarlet plague rattled through the city in the last month before calibration. Taking several prominent aunts and uncles and taking also his eldest brother Emilio. The line of succession was broken and in the choas of a family in mourning, the Tall man stepped forward into centre stage and into a life for which the family had never prepared him.

Life has been full since with running a criminal enterprise spanning 3 kingdoms, coping with the increasingly pervassive dreams of a life he knows he never lived (perhaps someone has been doping him with Spice liquor, but the dreams are both grand and terrible whilst the Sea of Mind is never anything but sublime) and laterly meeting with the strangely charasmatic gentlemen who insist that they understand his dreams, that they have them too and that the Tall Man is their brother. But Tully had a brother, he's with the Ancestors at Kodor now and Tully does not intend to join him any time soon.
